What Paper Should I Use to Print My Party Printables?

The Right Paper for Party Printables

It’s fun using party printables for your parties. Not only do your creative juices flow, but you also save a lot of money. However, the money saved is wasted if your printables aren’t printed on the right type of paper. The wrong paper can ruin all of your hard work and leave your decor not as professional-looking as originally intended.

If you've purchased printable party decorations and are ready to print, you’re in luck! This post will cover the best paper to use for your DIY party printables.

The Best Paper for Party Printables.

Card stock

Yep, plain white or ultra-bright white card stock is what we highly recommend. Please, please don't use your regular printer paper!  Card stock is smooth and sturdy enough to handle any design, and it can also withstand the cutting, folding, and any other manipulation you may need. Your card stock should be 80lb to 100lb. If the weight is thicker than this, your printer may not be able to handle it and you may end up with a paper jam!

To have great quality-looking DIY printables, we highly recommended the following card stock options:

Neenah Card stock, 8.5" x 11", 90 lb/163 gsm, White, 94 Brightness

We use Neenah with most of our party projects. It’s bright white and works well with both laser and inkjet printers. We always get great high-resolution images and prints that stand out and get the attention you want. It leaves your projects looking professional and amazing. It’s also reasonably priced at $12.49 for 300 sheets.  Another option for those who are looking for less quantity is by Desktop Publishing

DPB, Heavyweight White Cardstock 8.5" x 11" - 80lb Card stock

Another option for those who are looking for less quantity but still good quality is by Desktop Publishing brand.  This card stock is excellent for a multitude of projects. It gives your projects a professional look, works well on ALL types of printers, and if you prefer buying card stock in smaller quantities. You can get as few as 20 sheets for $7.95.

Accent Opaque White 80lb, 8.5” x 11” Cardstock Paper

Lastly we sometimes use this premium cardstock paper, it makes colors bolder, brighter, and more realistic. It’s really ideal for heavy printing and leaves a nice smooth finish. It’s sturdy enough for photo props and banners, and it’s also one of our favorites. You can get 250 sheets for $13.14.

Final Thoughts

The papers mentioned above are not recommended for invitations as we feel they are not sturdy enough.  Continue to shop our site for the best party decor available for download.  If you love our printables but want us to print, head over to our main store,  Swanky Party Box to find that perfect item.
